Charter Communications has announced that Robert E. Quicksilver will join the company on September 6, 2011 as Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer. In his new position, Mr. Quicksilver will oversee Charter’s legal, government affairs, human resources and advertising sales teams.
Mr. Quicksilver will join Charter from the Washington, D.C. office of Patton Boggs, one of the leading public policy law firms in the U.S., where he is a partner in the Technology/Communications and Business groups.
During a career that spans three decades, Mr. Quicksilver has also held leadership positions at several media companies, having served as President of Network Distribution of FOX Broadcasting Company, Vice President and General Counsel of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Vice President and General Counsel of River City Broadcasting and Chief Content Officer of TidalTV. In addition, he served as a consultant to Yahoo! Media Group.
“Bob brings to Charter a rare combination of law, policy and executive-level media experience,” said Mike Lovett, Charter’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “His broad range of industry knowledge and strong leadership skills complement Charter’s executive team. Bob will play a key role in helping Charter continue to build on its recent successes.”
Mr. Quicksilver, a native St. Louisan, received a J.D. from The University of Michigan Law School and a B.A. from Dartmouth College.
