Cablevision Systems Corp. has launched Fox Business Network in high-definition in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut on Thursday, November 19, 2009 on channel 106.
Cablevision now offers Fox Business Network to its three million plus iO TV digital cable subscribers.
Cablevision spokesperson said in a statement, “We are pleased to make Fox Business Network available to our iO TV digital cable customers in both standard definition and HD.”
Fox Business Network said: “We’re pleased to welcome Cablevision as our newest Fox Business affiliate and look forward to providing the essential and up-to-the-minute breaking business news to the greater New York area.”
The National Basketball Association (NBA) has announced that it has struck carriage deals with Cablevision Systems Corp, Dish Network and Time Warner Cable to carry NBA TV.
This agreement will allow operators to carry NBA TV and will reach 45 million United States homes.
The NBA has already struck similar deals with DirecTV, Comcast Corporation, Cox Communications and Verizon Communications earlier this year.
Cablevision will launch NBA TV on iO digital package, Dish Network will offer the sports network on Classic Silver 200 Package and Time Warner Cable to deliver NBA TV on its digital basic tier.
NBA deputy commissioner and COO Adam Silver in a statement, said: “We are pleased to announce that our new agreements with Time Warner Cable, Cablevision, and Dish Network will bring NBA TV to 45 million U.S. homes. NBA TV remains the ultimate basketball destination, and we’re excited to welcome the millions of new fans who will be able to experience the network’s original programming, live games, and Emmy award-winning on-air talent.”
Cablevision Systems has announced that that its Optimum Rewards program has exceeded more than 500,000 registered members. Cablevision Systems’ Optimum Rewards offers subscribers who qualify for all the three Optimum services with bottom of the bill discount monthly. Customers will have more benefits like free movies at all Clearview Cinemas locations every Tuesday, discounts at a variety of top area attractions and can also save money with various discounts from participating retailers.

Verizon Communications said in a press release on Monday, July 28 that the cable operator offers 100 High-Definition channels in the New York area. Verizon further stated that the service will offer 100 HD channels, giving customers more HD than Cablevision or Time Warner Cable. These new HD channels offered are to existing FiOS TV markets in the New York metropolitan area, including parts of Long Island, the suburbs just north of the city, and northern New Jersey.

Cablevision Systems Corporation has added 15 new high-definition channels to its iO TV HD line-up on Monday, July 28. Cablevision now offers 60 high-definition channels for its iO TV subscribers for no extra programming fees or equipment. Cablevision’s new addition of 15 new high-definition channels will be completed on August 1, 2008. The new HD channels comes to Cablevision customers before the DISH Networks scheduled launch of 17 new HD channels, which starts from August 1. Cablevision started adding following HD channels from Monday :
